I originally wrote Far From Home for an Honors English class assignment
in my junior year of high school. This certainly wasn't my first short story
that I have written, but it is definitely my favorite. Far From Home is about
two brothers, Micah and Jeremiah, who enlist to fight on opposing sides
during the Civil War. The story is told in both flashback and present time
to allow the reader to better understand the characters. Whether you're
a historical fiction fanatic or just simply looking for a heart-warming read,
